Apparently I was destined to own this bike. A gentleman from Murphysboro, Ill., tried tracking me down for months, trying to unload this bike. He even called my parents' house in Springfield to get my number in Carbondale. Finally he got it, and (of course) got my answering machine, saying he had a Twinn and was wondering if I'd be interested. Obviously I was, so I called back, got HIS machine, and thus began a 3-week period of phone tag.
FINALLY we got a hold of each other and $75 later it was mine. The guy had recently separated from his wife, and the bike was too big a reminder of his marriage (it had a child seat on the back), so he wanted to unload it. How fitting that he gave his tandem to a young couple just starting out.
